A. Choosing the right venue
The City has a vast range of outdoor settings for fairs, festivals and markets. We also have many great indoor spaces for community events: halls, pavilions, community centres and the like.
Booking requests for City venues and facilities can be submitted online. Visit bookings.armadale.wa.gov.au. Your booking request will be assessed and you will be notified of the outcome. You will be advised if there are other activities happening in the same venue on the same day or of any specific requirements for your chosen venue.
If you wish to hold a public event on private land, confirm with the City's Planning Services and Health Services that the venue is suitable.

C. Marketing and promotion
Utilise the Armadale Community Directory to promote your event and connect with local residents, groups and organisations.
D. Event risk and time frames
The event risk rating and number of attendees determine if an event application must be submitted.
For outdoor events with over 100 people, you will need to complete an event application form with the proposed lay-out on a site plan and a copy of your group's public liability insurance.
Select the option applicable for further planning of your event.
An event with less than 100 people may still require additional approvals for certain activities. These include: selling of food, installation of large structures, outdoor loud music, live bands and amusement rides. Contact the City's Health Services on 08 9394 5000 to confirm.

Private functions or functions with "invitations only" are not included as a public event like weddings and parties, or where the indoor facility is being used within its intended purpose and according to the person capacity.
By completing the Risk Assessment Tool you can also determine if your event is a Medium or High risk.
By completing the Medical Risk Assessment Tool it will indicate important points for your planning in relation to medical assistance, first aiders, timeframe for notification to agencies and assist in your Risk Management Plan of the event.
