The City of Armadale acknowledge the Traditional Owners and the Custodians of the land upon which we stand, work and play.

We acknowledge Aboriginal people as the First Peoples of this land and their connection to the lands and the waters, as they are part of them spiritually and culturally.

We acknowledge their ancestors, the Elders past and present, who have led the way for us to follow.

The City of Armadale is proud to showcase the 2025 Humans of Armadale, as we celebrate their work as dedicated volunteers across the City.

Based on the original and famous Humans of New York, the City has used the concept to share stories about our residents. The 2025 Humans of Armadale is our third edition, and our focus this time is community volunteers who reside or work in the City of Armadale.

Mayor Ruth Butterfield said: “The City selected 22 volunteers to be featured, and they will be recognised during National Volunteer Week beginning on Monday 19 May 2025. We’re really proud of all our volunteers, who make a significant contribution to the City through their acts of service.

“Humans of Armadale is a great opportunity to share these stories, and recognise the work that our volunteers do, as their work is often less visible.”

These 22 humans all have rich stories of how they found themselves volunteering, and the meaning they find from giving back to the community.

These stories will be shared in a specially printed book, as well as across audio and video interviews that the City will share on our social media channels.

Thank you to the Centre For Stories for facilitating the interviews.

To download the 2025 book and hear some of the stories, you can visit the Humans of Armadale Engage page.
