The City of Armadale has long recognised the value of working collaboratively to prevent crime and enhance community safety. The matters of law and order cannot be solely the responsibility of the WA Police and state agencies. We can all take action to help make our City a safer place. Jull Street Precinct CCTV cameras
The City has installed 27 fixed and Pan Tilt Zoom (PTZ) cameras throughout Jull Street, Memorial Park and the City's Administration block.The CCTV cameras will:
All incidents should be reported to the Armadale Police, who in turn will request footage from the City of Armadale. The system is linked to the Armadale Police Station and registered with Blue Iris (Ext.).
Cam-Map WA
Cam-Map WA is a comprehensive database of all voluntarily registered CCTV systems across Western Australia. This publicly accessed platform allows owners and operators of CCTV systems to self-register onto a secure database operated by the Western Australia Police Force. Accurate knowledge of the locations of CCTV systems will assist WA Police to investigate incidents in order to improve community safety. Neighbourhood Watch
Neighbourhood Watch aims to create a safe and secure community, by encouraging people to know their neighbours and report any unusual behaviour in and around their area. Eyes on the Street
Eyes on the Street is a coordinated intelligence gathering program which encourages State Government agencies, Local Governments and businesses to identify and record suspicious behaviour and report it to police. A number of City of Armadale staff work throughout the City and report suspicious or criminal activity. Members of the public can report suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Designing out crime
Peoples' behaviour - both in terms of the possibility of offending and an individual's perception about their safety - can be influenced by the design of an environment. Good design can reduce opportunities for offending and improve feelings of safety. The planning and design of places, spaces and buildings can assist in reducing crime through improvements to:

Fencing
Landscaping
Surveillance.
